Mama Tweedle's Nutty Coleslaw

This is the quickest, easiest side dish to make, yet people always ask me why it tastes so good. The secret is chopped pecans.

Start with a bag of coleslaw, or make your own by chopping up cabbage and carrots.

Chop up about one cup of pecans, more if you really love nuts, and toast them in the microwave for 45 seconds. Do NOT leave them any longer or they will scorch and taste awful.
Mix pecans into the coleslaw, and add enough coleslaw dressing to moisten.

You can serve immediately, but it tastes better if you can leave it in the refrigerator for a few hours so the flavours blend together. Put it in a pretty bowl, and serve. I like to add cherry tomatoes for a little color.
Tweedle Tip: To save money, get together with a couple of your Tweedlebuds and buy nuts in bulk. The divide them up later. They are WAY cheaper in bulk than buying them in small quantities. Store them in an airtight contained in the freezer and they will keep up to one year.
